The department of Radiopharmaceutical Production, Research and Development (RPRD) was established in 1994 and medical cyclotron (13 MeV, Ebco, Canada) was installed in the basement of SNUH in 1995. [¹⁸F]FDG for glucose metabolism, [¹⁵O]Water & [¹³N]Ammonia for brain & cardiac perfusion images was synthesized in 1995. After that, we have been produced a variety of radiopharmaceuticals such as [¹¹C]PIB, [¹¹C]Raclopride, [¹⁸F]FDOPA, [¹⁸F]FLT, [¹⁸F]AV1451, etc for clinical research, diagnosing and treating disease. Also, ⁶⁸Ge / ⁶⁸Ga Generator was used in 2005, the first time in Korea and collaborate with many other countries for lung cancer clinical research with [⁶⁸Ga]RGD. In 2011, we moved to Cancer Imaging Center of Cancer Hospital and have the state-of-the-art facilities to comply with the GMP regulations. In addition, we installed new medical cyclotron (16.5 MeV, GEMS, Sweden) and produced many radionuclides (¹¹C, ¹³N, ¹⁵O, ¹⁸F) including metal radionuclide (⁶⁴Cu, ⁸⁹Zr, etc).
