The comparison with the results of quantitative analysis of

99mTc-DMSA Scan using motion correction method

=Abstract

Purpose : The purpose of this study is for quantitative(absolute uptake & mean relative

uptake) analysis of renal uptake rates using LEM Gamma Camera motion correction for

breathing.

Methods : We studied from Sep 2005 to Nov 2005 at department of nuclear medicine

SNUH (Seoul National University Hospital) visited 28 patients, for 99mTc-DMSA renal

scan. We used the LEHR-PAR collimator, 256*256 word mode, 500k count, Mag 1.0

,counting for 60sec, LEM gamma camera.

To acquire renal uptake rates of 99mTc-DMSA at 3-5hours after intravenous injection,

We analyzed for the quantified renal uptake rates between motion correction and

unmotion.

Results : The value is quantitative analysis of 99mTc-DMSA Scan using motion

correction. absolute uptake appear that motion correction(mean±SD): LT 24.19±10.05, RT

23.92±9.92, unmotion correction(mean±SD): LT 24.37±10.27, RT 24.01±9.70, and mean

relative uptake motion correction(mean±SD): LT 50.60±17.41, RT 49.33±17.40 unmotion

correction(mean±SD): LT 50.46±17.30, RT 49.40±17.30. When we compared two group

with paired T-test, all values were over 0.05. There is no signification difference.

Conclusion : We examined the influence on the moving of the kidney for breathing. To

acquire renal uptake rates of 99mTc-DMSA at 3-5hours after intravenous injection, We

analyzed for the quantified renal uptake rates between motion correction and motion. All

values using paired T-test analysis showed over 0.05. This study result have not an effect

on quantitative(absolute uptake & mean relative uptake) analysis of renal uptake rates

using LEM gamma camera motion correction for breathing.
